Article by

Have you ever read the descriptions of sacrifices in Leviticus as a manual of worship? This is foreign to us, yet it is a universal religious impulse in many cultures. In this podcast episode, we look at the sacrifices in Leviticus. Because you see, the sacrificial system and the Temple service have a lot to teach us about worship. Contrary to popular opinion, the sacrifices are more than just about sin. They are also about praise and thanksgiving, and about fellowship with God. (Now that doesn’t mean we should go out and try sacrificing an animal in our backyard…that would actually be going against God’s Law).

In this episode, we discuss the Hebrew word “korban”, the mechanics of sacrifice, types of offerings, and false worship.
